Review discovered apps
Who can do this? |
Shadow IT apps (or Discovered apps) is what we call it when managed account users sign up for apps on their own. On the Shadow IT apps screen, you’ll find an overview of the apps they’ve signed up to, and can administer outside of your organization. From there, you can take actions to manage these shadow instances. What is the impact of shadow IT on my organization?
To view details of shadow IT apps:
Go to Atlassian Administration. Select your organization if you have more than one.
Select Security > Discovered products.
Apps appear in this list when:
Your managed account starts a new Confluence or Jira app.
Your managed account started a new Confluence or Jira app before you verified your domain and claimed their account.
Apps do not appear in your Shadow IT apps when your managed account signed up for the app with an email address that your organization doesn’t manage. This means they changed their email before you verified your domain and before they became a managed account.
This table includes more details about the information you see on the Shadow IT apps page.

If your managed accounts are removed as organization admins, the app remains a discovered app but there won’t be any admins to contact - so View organization admins won’t appear, and you also won’t be able to Join as admin. |
